About TLC

Before anything, I am a Mother to my two beautiful children. After the birth of my son in 2007, I knew there had to be a better way to birth. I got a passion for pregnancy and birth. I fully believe our bodies are designed for and know how to have babies. Birth is not a medical incident, but has been turned into just that.

My mission is to give birthing back to women. To help women understand pregnancy and birth and believe it is a normal, natural, healthy event, that does not need unnecessary medical intervention. And to give women back the power to birth peacefully, calmly, and comfortably.

In October 2009, I began my journey to attain Certified Professional Midwife, through Art of Midwifery classes in Media, PA. Upon completion, I will specialize in homebirth and well-woman care. In a normal pregnancy, I believe home is the safest place for birthing for both mother and child. I birthed our second child at home in July 2010. It was the most wonderful, empowering, beautiful experience and pain-free. That birth has driven me even more to change the way women view birth.

In addition to my passion for birth, I have a great passion for the Earth, and taking steps to preserve her for our children and future generations. I take pride in the many things my family does to “green” our lives, and truly believe one person (or family) can make a difference. I also enjoy reading, organic gardening, cooking and hiking with my family – especially in Maine.
