Birthing Assistance

This valuable service is available to any family seeking assistance at their birth. I will assist both the mother and birth companion with whatever is needed. Helps keep mother relaxed and offers other comfort measures, such as light-touch massage and suggesting labor and birthing positions. I will help mother and companion to keep positive attitudes. Initial help with breastfeeding. I will meet you at your birthing location and stay until birthing is complete.

Breastfeeding

I am a huge advocate and firm believer in breastfeeding. Breast is not “best”, it is normal and standard nutrition for all infants and toddlers. The benefits are unsurpassed by any other means for both baby and mother. I practiced extended breastfeeding with my first child and I am currently breastfeeding my second. I have helped many women over the past three years and would love to assist any woman in making her breastfeeding relationship successful.

Babywearing

Babywearing is centuries old. There are many benefits to babywearing including: increased maternal bond, easier breastfeeding, lessen or eliminated postpartum depression, calmer babies who are less prone to colic, baby learns more and grows better, keeps baby feeling safe and secure, baby learns language and expression earlier, frees mother‘s or provider‘s hands to do other tasks while keeping baby close. I will help you to select the carrier that works best for your needs and give instruction on how to use the sling or carrier.

Cloth Diapers

Cloth diapering can seem overwhelming! There are so many choices today, it can be difficult to know where to begin. However, there are so many advantages in cloth diapering – great for the Earth, no plastic against baby and easy on the budget. I would love to help guide you through everything cloth! I have an assortment of diapers to look through, we’ll be sure to find what works for you and your family.
